  20th Bhadra as Antitrafficking Day at the National level

  EU MPs at Maiti Nepal

The visiting European Parliament delegation head Nina Gill with five members of European Parliament visited Maiti Nepal on 23 March 07.

  97th International Women's Day

Maiti Nepal Felicitated 4 women in a programme organized on the occasion of 97th international women's day.


  Twenty (20) children and women were rescued

Twenty (20) children and women were rescued jointly by Maiti Nepal and Rescue Foundation, Mumbai on 08 May 2006 from brothels situated in Pune and Mumbai, India. They are now back in Nepal at Maiti Nepal. We have been able to trace and locate parents of 2 of the children.


  Inauguration of Maiti Nepal's Sonja Kill Memorial Hospice

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Himani Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah inaugurated Maiti Nepal's Sonja Kill Memorial Hospice constructed at Gokarneshwor Village Development Committee, Pakhathok of Kathmandu at a function organised on 19 January 2006.


  Anti Trafficking Day 2005-04-08

Over the last decade there have been concrete efforts in Nepal to address the trafficking and their commercial sexual exploitation. However in recent years the nature of child trafficking has changed.


  Soliciting the rights of restaurant employees

With instigation of Maiti Nepal a monitoring committee was formed to keep vigilance on cases of abuse and exploitation escalating in Cabin and Dance restaurant throughout Kathmandu Valley.


  12th Anniversary 06 April 2005 Maiti Nepal

Maiti Nepal celebrated its annual day on 6th April 2005 on the occasion of completion of its twelve years of establishment. Dr. Durga Pokhrel, ex-chairperson of National Woman Commission had kindly consented to grace the ceremony as the chief guest.
