Maiti Nepal in coordination with Gulariya municipality, distributed dignity kits which included sanitizer, mask, shampoo, soap, innerwear, sanitary napkins, slippers and food items to 50 women and 15 children at the quarantine center of Kotahi Secondary school. Deputy Mayor of Gulariya Municipality, Mrs. Sushila Giri handed over the kits and food items.
The centre is the first and only female friendly quarantine center in Nepal opened due to the increase in various crimes and violence against women and children. Maiti Nepal is a pioneer organization to support women and children who are facing such crimes and violence.
Mr. Giri extended his gratefulness towards Maiti Nepal for their constant support towards women and children and for being an example to everyone.
Similarly, the women and children were extremely happy to receive such support during these trying times. Not only this, but they are also informed about various other knowledge and information about Human trafficking, domestic violence, gender based violence and safe migration, especially during the circumstances created by the Covid19.
Maiti Nepal has been closely working with the local authorities to prevent and combat Covid19.
