Dissemination of a study on hostile behaviour of witnesses and victims in human trafficking cases

Maiti Nepal organized an event to disseminate a study on hostile behaviour of witnesses and victims in human trafficking cases. Attorney General of Nepal, Honourable Agni Prasad Kharel unveiled the study amidst the gathering   of judges, secretaries of Nepal government, police, representatives of Nepal Bar Association, National Human rights commission, National Women’s Commission, non government organizations and journalists .Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Honourable Agni Prasad Kharel said that human trafficking is a grave form of human rights violation and publication of the book is an important milestone in realizing the factors behind failure of cases due to hostile behavior of witnesses and victims.Chairperson of the ceremony and Acting President of Maiti Nepal, Mr. Bishwo Khadka thanked all the participants for their valuable presence in the function. He expected that the study will be instrumental to all the stakeholders for enabling themselves in preventing hostile cases, bringing perpetrators to book and ensuring justice to survivors who have been coerced to turn hostile.
