Border surveillance checkpoint, is situated at the Khagraula border on the Southern side adjoining India. This region poses a heightened risk due to the open border shared by India and Nepal, with various smaller routes leading into India.<br>The Tikapur Transit Home of Maiti Nepal offers short-term services encompassing rescue, repatriation, legal support, psychosocial support, and reintegration. Additionally, the transit home conducts awareness-raising activities and activism against gender-based violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/maitinepal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tikapur-awareness-Large-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1961\" srcset=\"https:\/\/maitinepal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tikapur-awareness-Large-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/maitinepal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tikapur-awareness-Large-600x450.jpeg 600w, https:\/\/maitinepal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tikapur-awareness-Large-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/maitinepal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tikapur-awareness-Large.jpeg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Major Achievements of 2024<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>MN Transit Home Tikapur Intercepted 78 girls\/women from different risky situations preventing them from being trafficked out of which 43 were directly returned home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4,456 vehicles were inspected at the Nepal-India Border to trace if the children\/women who were migrating were at risk of trafficking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>38 women\/ girls were reintegrated with their families.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shelter support was provided to 37 girls\/women, out of which 10 females were below the age of 18 and 27 females were above the age of 18.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 Domestic violence cases were filed in the transit home out of which 1 case was mediated and 2 were referred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>18 missing cases were reported to the Transit Home and among them, 11 were found.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2,404 people received the information on anti-trafficking, domestic and sexual violence, and safe migration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>88 women and girls received psychosocial counseling in the year 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"featured_media":820,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":true},"class_list":["post-683","transit_home","type-transit_home","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/maitinepal.org\/ne\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/transit_home\/683","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/maitinepal.org\/ne\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/transit_home"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/maitinepal.org\/ne\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/transit_home"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/maitinepal.org\/ne\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/820"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/maitinepal.org\/ne\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=683"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
