
On 25th and 26th February 2022 with a joint initiative of the Office of the Attorney General and Maiti Nepal, a two days’ program was conducted on the “Changing Dimensions of Human Trafficking: challenges in Investigation, Prosecution and Adjudication.” The program was organized in order to identify gaps to access justice and adjudication in Policies and Implementation in Investigation, Prosecution and Adjudication through a series of discussion with the representatives from the Judiciary and Law Enforcement Agency and Public Prosecutors on Human Trafficking and Transportation Control Act and Foreign Employment Act in relation to the Palermo Protocol as well as survivor’s access to justice and adjudication. The workshop culminated into a panel discussion that highlighted the need for a survivor friendly prosecution and adjudication, discussions on legal provisions on human trafficking and policy reform for the changing dimension of human trafficking for the venerable and at-risk people and way forward. The program was honored to have chief guest as the Attorney General Honorable Khamma Bahadur Khati and Maiti Nepal’s Founder/Chairperson Ms. Anuradha Koirala as the chair for the program.
