On November 6th, the ROAM Humanitarian @ROAM Humanitarian team from Utah, USA had a joyous program of visiting Maiti Nepal Transit home at Nagdhunga, Thankot, led by Maiti Nepal’s Executive Director, Mr. Bishworam Khadka. They also visited the Women and Children Shelter Homes at Maiti Nepal’s head office, in collaboration with the Free-A-Girl Foundation. During the visit, the team had an enlightening experience learning about Maiti Nepal’s remarkable efforts in combating human trafficking along with witnessing a live vehicle inspection at the Nagdhunga border checkpoint.
Upon arriving at the head office, the team engaged in a meaningful conversation with Maiti Nepal’s founder, Ms. Anuradha Koirala, who passionately described the organization’s vital work. The ROAM team also had the opportunity to partake in a dance therapy session with the children of Maiti Nepal Child Protection Center and joined them in a meditation session.
As a gesture of appreciation, the ROAM team purchased beautiful beaded items, lovingly crafted by the women from the Women Rehabilitation Home, as souvenirs to support Maiti Nepal’s cause. We would like to thank the @roam.humanitarian team for a heartwarming visit and for creating lasting memories.
Free A Girl has been aiding Maiti Nepal to intercept vulnerable girls who otherwise are highly likely to fall victim to sexual exploitation along with rescue and providing shelter support as a sense of safety where they can start to heal their trauma and get rehabilitated into society. @freeagirl
