Maiti Nepal is implementing the project “Empowering Children/Women for Self-Sustainability and Holistic Development“ in Kathmandu from June 2025 to May 2026, focusing on children and women rescued from human trafficking and currently living in Maiti Nepal’s shelters. The project aims to help them rebuild their lives by providing education, vocational training, life skills, and basic support. They will receive hands-on training in practical skills such as beauty services, baking, beadwork, and handicrafts, which can help them earn a living.

Those who want to continue their studies will get extra academic support, while school materials and clothing will be provided to improve their daily life. The project will also include exposure visits and recreational activities like rafting to build confidence, reduce stress, and improve social skills. Overall, the goal is to support these children and women in becoming independent, confident, and better prepared for a safe and stable future.
Project Objectives
- To support the rescued children and women in becoming self-reliant through skill-based and vocational training.
- To promote education among children and women by providing educational materials and assistance.
- To promote overall empowerment and mental-emotional development through recreational activities, fulfillment of basic needs, and a safe environment for protection.
