Supporting Project: Consolidated Actions Against Human Trafficking 2025
In Makawanpur District, Maiti Nepal operates a Prevention Home dedicated to safeguarding vulnerable groups, particularly girls and children, from the dangers of human trafficking. Guided by our mission to create a safer and more equitable world, this initiative embodies a holistic approach to combating trafficking through prevention, protection, prosecution, advocacy, and empowerment. The Prevention Home focuses on raising awareness, fostering economic independence, and developing life skills to reduce susceptibility to trafficking. Our efforts extend beyond shelters to community-based initiatives, where we collaborate with local governments, schools, civil society, and community organizations to build collective resilience against exploitation. Since 1997, the Prevention Home in Hetauda of Makawanpur District has been a beacon of hope for at-risk girls and women, offering a safe space and comprehensive support. From awareness programs to reintegration efforts, Maiti Nepal remains steadfast in its commitment to transforming the lives of those most vulnerable, empowered lives.
