Project Duration:January 2025 to December 2025
Donor:Pro Filia
Geographical Coverage:Sunsari, Kavre, Ilam and Kathmandu

Introduction:

Pro Filia is an impactful association dedicated to supporting individuals in overcoming physical, economic, and social challenges. One of its key initiatives is to provide crucial assistance to vulnerable individuals, including those at risk of trafficking.

As part of its commitment to combating child and women trafficking, PRO FILIA has focused on raising awareness, engaging public support, and creating social pressure against trafficking. Through interaction programs, workshops, and campaigns aligned with global observances, the organization educates communities and schools about human trafficking and gender-based violence.

In addition to awareness efforts, Pro Filia actively provides shelter, counseling, life skills training, and legal aid to at-risk girls and women. By equipping them with knowledge and skills, the project empowers individuals to recognize dangers and protect themselves from exploitation. The initiative also works on rescue, interception, and reintegration efforts, addressing missing persons and domestic violence cases while offering survivors essential legal and healthcare support.

Pro Filia extends its mission by ensuring that vulnerable individuals, including trafficked survivors and people in crisis, receive immediate assistance. This includes mobility support, travel aid, and on-site guidance, helping individuals navigate difficult situations and access necessary services. By combining advocacy, rescue operations, and direct support, Pro Filia plays a vital role in protecting vulnerable individuals and restoring their dignity.

Major Objectives:

  1. Operate a Transit Home in Ilam, Pashupatinagar, to provide direct support and therapeutic services for children and women who have been rescued or prevented from trafficking.
  2. Empower Vulnerable Girls by offering empowerment training at the Maiti Rehabilitation Home in Itahari, Sunsari.
  3. Provide Comprehensive Care in Kathmandu, Gaushala, for survivors of trafficking, rape, and gender-based violence, including their newborn babies, who face stigma and discrimination from their communities.
  4. Prevent Trafficking by ensuring at-risk individuals have access to vital information through the Information and Surveillance Centers (Safe Migration Centers) located in Kavre – Kavrepalanchok, Dhulikhel.
