Sonja Kill Memorial Hospice Program

Project Duration: January 2025 to December 2025

Operation Locations: Gokarneshwor, Kathmandu

The Sonja Kill Foundation was founded in 1993 in memory of Sonja Kill to support disadvantaged, sick, and vulnerable children, as well as mothers in need. Based in Germany, the Sonja Kill Foundation aims to improve the lives of vulnerable children and families worldwide through humanitarian aid, healthcare, education, and social support. It operates to provide medical care to underserved communities, protect and rehabilitate victims of exploitation, enhance educational opportunities, and empower women and mothers. Through these objectives, the Sonja Kill Foundation strives to create lasting, positive change for disadvantaged communities across the world.

The Sonja Kill Foundation aims to rescue and rehabilitate victims of human trafficking, abuse, and exploitation. It provides shelter, medical care, counseling, and vocational training to help survivors reintegrate into society. The foundation aims to create a nurturing, affectionate, and home-like atmosphere for terminally ill children and women who are survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation. It extends 24-hour medical care and support to these residents, closely monitoring those undergoing Anti-Retroviral Therapy and offering necessary symptomatic treatment as part of its hospice care.

Objectives of the Hospice:

  • Offer care, compassion, and a nurturing environment for terminally ill women and children who have survived trafficking and sexual exploitation.
  • Ensure round-the-clock medical care and support for all resident women and children.
  • Maintain close monitoring of residents undergoing Anti-Retroviral Therapy.
  • Provide symptomatic treatment as required.
