On 8th March, 2026, Maiti Nepal marked International Womenโ€™s Day with a joyful and inspiring celebration. Children from our Child Protection Home, day scholars from Teresa Academy, and beneficiaries from our Womenโ€™s Rehabilitation Center came together for a vibrant talent competition, showcasing their creativity through dance, singing, poetry, instrumental performances, and art.

We were also honored by the presence of Ms. Roma Neupane, Nepalโ€™s first one-leg dancer, who performed alongside her son. Her powerful performance reminded our children that strength lies in resilience and that no obstacle should stop us from chasing our dreams.

Our Founder/Chairperson, Ms Anuradha Koirala, and the Executive Director Mr. Bishworam Khadka emphasised that respect for women should not be limited to a single day. Every day must be a commitment to uphold womenโ€™s dignity, equality, safety, and the freedom to live with opportunity and voice.

Our team also participated in the program organised by Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Across the country, Maiti Nepalโ€™s district offices also marked the day by organising awareness programs and rallies, advocating for the rights of women and girls in their respective communities.

Let this day inspire us all to move beyond celebration and toward action, standing together to build a world where every woman and girl can live free from violence, discrimination, and fear.
