MAITI NEPAL

Awareness Campaign in one of Nepal’s most vulnerable communities: a Remote Chepang Community.

Closing the 16 Days of Activism in One of Nepal’s Most Vulnerable Communities

On 10 December, marking the final day of the 16 Days of Activism Against GBV, Maiti Nepal, through the Rescues and Interceptions 2025 Project supported by Free A Girl USA, reached a remote Chepang community at Shree National Basic School, Rapti–13. Nearly four hours off-road and lacking basic facilities, this community faces high risks of child marriage, unsafe migration, and human trafficking. Through street drama, awareness sessions, and IEC materials, students, parents, and villagers actively engaged in building community protection.

This visit also brought warmth as every student received a hoodie and a trouser set to help them stay safe and continue their education.

Even as the campaign ends, our commitment continues: reaching the hardest places and standing with those most at risk.
