Day 2 of the Access to Justice Workshop for Human Trafficking Survivors, on 30th December 2023, was filled with insightful discussions! Key highlights included presentations by legal experts, emphasizing the critical role of stakeholders in tackling human trafficking.
Associate Attorney General, Mr. Surya Raj Dahal, outlined comprehensive support for victims and families, stressing the importance of justice, reintegration, and preserving human dignity. Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Bishwa Raj Koirala, addressed challenges, calling for clarity in legal provisions and advocating for victim-friendly measures.
Supreme Court Registrar, Mr. Bhadrakali Pokharel, discussed the court’s role in ensuring swift justice for trafficking victims, and Registrar Mr. Narayan Panthee praised the positive aspects of victim-friendly court cells.
The workshop concluded with engaging group discussions on victims’ access to justice, proposing solutions, and outlining the roles of judicial stakeholders. Attorney General Hon. Dr. Dinamani Pokharel urged real change, emphasizing the need for an action plan and the ongoing reformation of the legal institution for comprehensive access to justice.
