
Maiti Nepal, in collaboration with the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), Nepal, successfully organized a two-day workshop on November 28–29, 2025, focusing on strengthening victim-friendly justice mechanisms for survivors of human trafficking.
The program was chaired by Ms. Anuradha Koirala, Founder/Chairperson of Maiti Nepal, with Hon. Attorney General Sabita Bhandari as the Chief Guest, Mr. Khemraj Gyawali, Deputy Attorney General, Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki, and Mr. Gopal Prasad Adhikari, Chief District Officer, Kavre, as the Special Guests.
The workshop featured presentations by Hon. Judge Matrika Prasad Acharya with commentary from Deputy Attorney General Khem Raj Gyawali; Senior Superintendent of Police Krishna Pangeni with commentary by Former Deputy Attorney General Gopal Prasad Rijal; Deputy Secretary Basanta Prasad Panthi with commentary from Former Joint Secretary Ratnakaji Bajracharya; and Deputy Attorney General Surya Raj Dahal with commentary by Hon. Judge Lal Bahadur Kunwar of the High Court, Lalitpur.
Key sessions featured insights from esteemed presenters- including judges, government prosecutors, investigators, and ministry representatives. Discussions covered:
Access to justice & compensation mechanisms
Victim-friendly investigation processes
Rescue, repatriation & rehabilitation frameworks
Rights of victims and the role of government prosecutors
Participants engaged in group work, case discussions, and experience sharing to develop practical recommendations and a clear roadmap for strengthening justice delivery for survivors.
Commitments to promote victim-friendly investigations and efficient justice delivery for survivors of human trafficking were presented by Maiti Nepal and endorsed by all participants.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Ms. Anuradha Koirala, reaffirming the collective commitment to ending human trafficking and ensuring justice for all survivors.
