Real change begins within communities, and young people are leading the way.
On 23–24 April 2026, in Purandaha, Mithilabihari Municipality, 30 youth from Mithilabihari and Dhanushadham came together for a two-day training supported by Maiti Nepal, working alongside partners to strengthen youth leadership for gender equality and social justice.
Through interactive sessions, discussions, and role plays, participants deepened their understanding of issues such as child marriage, dowry, caste-based discrimination, and gender-based violence. They also built practical skills in communication, facilitation, and community engagement, equipping them to take meaningful action in their own communities. Their voices, ideas, and action plans reflect a growing movement toward safer, more inclusive communities where harmful practices are challenged and dignity is upheld. Maiti Nepal remains committed to standing alongside communities, especially young people, to promote gender equality and create lasting, positive change.
