Creativity, Confidence, and Learning Mark the Start of the New Academic Year at Teresa Academy

The new academic year at Maiti Nepal’s Teresa Academy began with a series of engaging activities designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and a love of learning among students of all ages.

To welcome students back to school, Teresa Academy organized a Class Decoration Competition, giving students an opportunity to work together and transform their classrooms using their own ideas and creative talents. Each class developed unique themes and decorations, encouraging teamwork, decision-making, self-expression, and a sense of ownership over their learning environment.

The activity not only brightened classrooms with color and creativity but also helped students build confidence and strengthen relationships with their peers as they embarked on a new academic year together.

At the same time, the school’s youngest learners participated in a five-day First Week Activity under the theme “Learning Pencil Grasp.” Through songs, play-based learning, vocabulary-building exercises, clay modelling, hand painting, and other interactive activities, pre-primary students explored and learned in a joyful and supportive environment.

These activities were carefully designed to support the development of fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, pencil control, creativity, and confidence, laying an important foundation for future learning.

At Teresa Academy, education extends beyond textbooks. By creating opportunities for creativity, participation, and personal growth, the school helps students develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Operated by Maiti Nepal, Teresa Academy provides quality education to children from vulnerable backgrounds, particularly girls at risk of trafficking and exploitation. Through education, care, and encouragement, the school supports children in building safer, more independent, and hopeful futures.

As the new school year begins, students and teachers look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, creativity, and new possibilities.
