Today, we remember Sonja Kill, whose life, though tragically cut short at just 21 years of age, continues to inspire compassion and hope around the world.
Known for her cheerful spirit, kindness, and deep love for animals, especially horses, Sonja touched the lives of those around her with warmth and generosity. A talented show jumper, she lived with passion, joy, and an unwavering love for life.
Her spirit continues to inspire hope through the lasting legacy of the Sonja Kill Foundation. Established in her memory after her tragic passing on 8 July 1993, the Foundation has transformed loss into a powerful force for good, supporting women and children affected by poverty, violence, and abuse around the world.
At Maiti Nepal, we are deeply grateful for the Sonja Kill Foundation’s unwavering partnership and commitment to protecting, empowering, and restoring the lives of survivors of human trafficking and gender-based violence.
On this day, we honor Sonja’s memory and extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Kill family for ensuring that her legacy continues to change lives.
