Women Rehabilitation Home Itahari

Rehabilitation Home located in Itahari sub-metropolitan city, Sunsari of province 1 was established in the year 2002 with the objective of rehabilitating and empowering girls and women who have been survivors of sexual exploitation/trafficking, potential victims of trafficking and survivors of rape, sexual assaults and domestic violence.

Hence, to empower these girls; instigate their confidence, make them economically viable the Home provides empowerment training consisting of tailoring, embroidery, boutique items, knitting sweaters, caps, socks and woolen bags; needlework; making cushions, loan management, horticulture and vegetable farming. Home has been successful in providing safe temporary shelters during their stay along with providing life skills training.

Women Rehabilitation Home Kathmandu

The Rehabilitation Home located in Kathmandu, province 3 is an on-going project, was established in the birth year of Maiti Nepal in 1993 AD. Key activities of the Home are to provide shelter; arrange non-formal as well as formal education; impart vocational, income generating and life skills; offer micro credit support, facilitate medical checkups and treatment; conduct counselling and psychotherapy sessions; legal aid service and file cases against accused criminals; identify parents and encourage the residents to set up their own enterprises and become self-reliant.

Residents of the Home belong to heterogeneous mix. They include intercepted girls/women, potential victims of trafficking, survivors of domestic violence and rape, trafficked girl/women and vulnerable girls and women. The Rehabilitation Home is first and foremost a safe home to those who are in immediate need, and those who have been physically and/or psychologically scarred. This Home has been able to support the physical, psychological, and educational needs of its members and continues to provide safe temporary shelter during their stay.
