Introduction
Established in 2021 AD, the transit home Dhanusha is situated in Ward No.7 of Janakpurdham Sub Metropolitan in Janakpurdha, within the Dhanusha district. Dhanusha, known for its exquisite beauty and religious significance, shares its northern border with the Madhuwani district in the state of Bihar, India. This region is considered high-risk due to the open border shared by India and Nepal, with various smaller routes leading into India.


Major Achievements of 2024
- MN Transit Home Dhanusha Intercepted 120 girls/women from different risky spots preventing them from being trafficked. Among them, 82 were directly returned home from the border.
- 123 women/ girls were directly reintegrated with their families.
- 5 cases of rape were reported and provided with legal support.
- 5,312 vehicles were checked at the Nepal-India Border to trace if the children/women traveling were at risk of trafficking.
- 11 missing cases were reported to the Transit Home and 5 were found.
- 10 Domestic Violence cases filed in the transit home. Among them, 7 cases were mediated and 3 cases were referred.
- Shelter support was provided to 88 girls/women. 22 of them were below the age of 18 and 66 of them were above the age of 18 during the year.
- 4,075 people received the information on anti-trafficking, domestic and sexual violence, and safe
- migration, provided by the team.
- 327 women and girls received psychosocial counseling in the year 2023.
