The transit home Kakarvitta was established in 1999 and it is located at Purano Bhansar, Suryaudayamarg, Mechi Nagar Municipality, ward no. 10 at Jhapa District. Jhapa district lies in Terai Region of the country situated in Mechi Zone under the Eastern Development Region of Nepal.
It borders Ilam district in the North, Morang district in the West, the Indian state of Bihar in the South and the East, and the Indian state of West Bengal in the East. Targeting it as one of the trafficking prone areas, transit home in Kakarvitta was established to lessen the threat of Human Trafficking.
