Introduction
The Mahendranagar transit home was founded in 2003 and is situated in Mahendranagar Municipality, Jantatole, Ward No. 10, Kanchanpur District. It borders the Indian states of Uttaranchal and Uttar Pradesh to the West and South. To the East, Kanchanpur district is surrounded by Kailali and Doti, and to the North by Dadeldhura District.

Major Achievements of 2024
MN Transit Home Mahedranagar Intercepted 119 people (43 girls under 18 years and 4 boys under 18 years) including 71 adult women from different risky spots.
- 127 survivors were safely reintegrated into their families.
- Maiti Nepal Mahendranagar rescued 25 girls/ women from different parts of India.
- 32 Domestic Violence Case Filed in the transit home out of which 19 cases were mediated and 13 cases were referred.
- 171 missing cases were reported to the Transit Home. Of these, 48 women were found and reintegrated into family and relatives.
- Shelter support was provided to 105 girls/women. 53 of them were below the age of 18 and 52 of them were above the age of 18 during the year.
- 24,193 people received the information on anti-trafficking issues, domestic and sexual violence, and safe migration, provided by the team.
- 152 women and girls received psychosocial counseling in the year 2023.
- 2 cases of human trafficking were reported.
- 4,533 vehicles were inspected at the Nepal-India Border to trace if the children/women who were migrating were at risk of trafficking.
